What Is The Difference Between Security Companies?

For the past 21 years, since 2001, we have been very busy ensuring the safety of the people and assets we have been protecting, particularly in Southern California.

Often, we are asked what is the difference between one security company to another because many people think that all contract security companies are alike and in many cases there is a lot of truth to this thinking - meaning many believe that all Security Providers are exactly same except they wear different patches and uniforms. So why change from one security company to another?

But the reality is that security companies lose their contract for nonperformance all the time and often much before their contract is due. In fact- while the average term for a typical security contract is 1-2 years -- we have been known in the industry to keep the same clients for over 10 years and each one of them will vouch for us any time!

How do we do it? We provide ideal security because we pay attention to details!

Beginning with a critical selection of manpower: We thoroughly screen new applicants to make sure that we only work with the best men and women in the industry. Thorough background checks, licenses and reference verification and a series of interviews is just part of the process. The results are that our guards are never under-qualified for their post.

Follow with a step by step on-boarding phase which includes familiarity with the client-specific security protocols, onsite training and tight supervision and continue with regular training such as Post Orders Site Orientation training, Foot Patrol, Laws of Arrest / Detention, Report Writing, First Aid & CPR and OSHA/ Hazard-Free Workplace. In addition, our training programs include Officer Safety, Employer Policies, Handling Difficult People, Crowd Control, Work Place Environment and training that is specific to our clients security needs and protocols.

Our management model leaves little room for errors. Every location employs post commanders, assistant post commanders and roaming supervision while a regional manager oversees operations. In other words, we rely on multiple levels of checks and balances and on several layers of management specifically designed to supervise and monitor officers' activities.

There is a great added value for this model as not only the guards on site are fully coordinated with their management, they also have great opportunities to climb up the ranking ladder which gives them a high motivation to do great work and to perform at high operational and professionals levels.

Our employees are proud to represent Quest National Security at the top of their performance because they know that their wellness is a high priority for our company and that includes attending to their needs, training, benefits and of course - their pay.

At Quest, we hire the best and we also take good care of our personnel. This directly benefits our clients the most.

In addition, we employ a Performance Review Program designed to quantify and qualify our service performance quarterly (or monthly - depending on the client’s needs.) The real value of this program is it’s a great barometer to identify operational issues and resolve them before they become “real issues.”

Today the security world is much different than 10-20 years ago as we now integrate various fields with the groundwork. Digital fields such as social media, the Internet, and communication with local law enforcement agencies. In addition to that we are also concerned with acts of terror and are well prepared to handle such events shall the need arise.

As a company, we are up to speed with all of the above. Our management has direct communication with local law enforcement agencies and many of our best people are former PD and military. We also employ a private detective division to help us follow up on any tip and information that might place the people whom we protect at risk.

One of the features our clients highly favor is having a single point of contact for all their security needs. In addition to our 24/7 dispatch and call center, each client receives a dedicated expert that is available 7 days a week and is empowered to resolve any question or issue immediately.

Many other security companies use a hierarchy model to solve clients' problems. The client communicates with the guard, the guard communicates with his immediate supervisor and so on. We believe that a potentially serious problem should be addressed directly with a decision maker and as a result all our clients communicate with their account executives 24/7.
